The PM-5 is a tactical shotgun of Italian origin. It was developed by Valtro in the 1980's for law enforcement and military use. The PM-5 is a sturdy pump action shotgun that removes the time needed to reload associated with tubular magazines by using box magazines.
The PM-5 is a conventional pump action shotgun with the added feature of feeding from a box magazine. The tube below the magazine is not a tubular magazine but acts as a rail for the slider. A polymer rifle grip or pistol grip is fitted. A tubular stock that folds over the top is available, as are muzzle attachments including a grenade launcher cup and various chokes.
The PM-5 fires standard 12ga shotgun shells with a 2.75" or 3" length. Magazine capacity is 7 rounds plus 1 in the chamber. The pump action magazine allows for the use of various non-lethal rounds alongside full pressure rounds.
The PM-5 is used in limited numbers with law enforcement and military units around the world.

The PM-5 is a basic pump-action shotgun with the added benefit of feeding from a box magazine. The only real variant is the shorter PM-5-350. However, the full size PM-5 can be acquired with different types of furniture, such as rifle or pistol grip and fixed and folding stock. Additionally chokes and a tear gas launcher can be fitted onto the muzzle.

The PM-5-350 is a PM-5 with a shorter 355mm barrel that does not extend beyond the pump action slide mechanism. Although a tall weapon for a short barrel shotgun it has the benefit of a 7+1 round magazine capacity. Most other short barrel shotguns only have a 3+1 or 4+1 magazine capacity.
